Celebrating over 50 years of service

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the Parsippany Rockaway Neck First Aid Squad provides emergency medical services to the residents of Parsippany. Not only those who live in town, but also those who work and play here and those who are just passing through. The Rockaway Neck First Aid Squad is composed solely of volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life.

We provide the following services at no cost:
(24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year)

• Responding to 911 calls and providing pre-hospital emergency medical care to Parsippany Residents and surrounding communities
• Working with Mobile Intensive Care Units to provide advanced life support
• Remaining on emergency standby during fires, sporting events, town and community functions.
• Loan of crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc as needed
• Public education for CPR, first aid and other health & safety related topics
• Educational “Tours” of the building and ambulances for Troops or Schools.

The prerequisites to ride on the ambulance are:

• Ability to pass an 8-hour CPR course, as well as a 120-hour EMT course
• Ability to work one 12-hour shift each week
• 6:00am - 6:00pm or 6:00pm - 6:00am
• Normally, crews stay at the squad building only for ambulance inspection, crew training, and subsequently respond from home
• Ability to work one Saturday night shift every 6 weeks
• Live or work in Lake Hiawatha or Eastern Parsippany

Administrative volunteers to handle non-emergency duties are also needed.
